Hi list,

I am experiencing some erratic behaviour while using Vi on Ubuntu 7.04

When I start Vi (not Vim) from the command line, the arrow keys do not
function as they should

UP arrow is substituted with 'A'
DOWN arrow with 'B'
LEFT with 'C'
RIGHT with 'D'

Then there is a problem with the INSERT mode. I cant change to the
insert mode using 'I'

However, when I do a Vim, everything is fine

Any comments?

Is this by default or after making some changes? I am too facing this
after making some changes to ~/.vimrc and installing additional plugins
and such. If I get the solution to this I will post it here.
