Hi Am reviving an old thread, since this problem has cropped up again.

Mount it under /media/ubuntucd or /media/ubuntudvd and then add > following line to /etc/apt/sources.list > > deb file:///media/ubuntucd/ main restricted now i did this mounted the iso images at two locations /home/ram/UBUNTU and /media/SEA_DISC/edgy/ added the following lines into sources.conf deb file:///home/ram/UBUNTU/ main restricted and deb file:///media/SEA_DISC/edgy/ main restricted then i opened synaptic and reloaded package files the error messages file:///home/ram/UBUNTU/dists/main/restricted/binary-i386/Packages.gz: File not found file:///media/SEA_DISC/ubuntu_edgy/dists/main/restricted/binary-i386/Packages.gz: File not found so any idea what could be wrong and what next to do ??? would appreciate your help. thanks ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
