I'm not sure what tally does... but think 'gnucash' is an alternative, it's a 
small business financial accounting software, similar to quicken, which comes 
for windows...

For some reason, tallysolutions is not pushing it. But you can download
a trial version at your site. But is neither open source nor free.



There is some merit in using an Indian accounting solution, but sadly,
not many options.
