Interim Good news !! http://www.bytesfree.org/bfblog/index.php/2007/09/04/ooxml-fails-in-iso-fast-track-attempt/
The much maligned attempt by Microsoft to fast-track ISO acceptance of its proposed OOXML standard has been rejected. Note that this doesn’t mean that OOXML is dead in terms of eventual acceptance by the ISO, but rather the fast-track process is dead. Andy Updegrove, as usual, has given his excellent analysis of the situation. Amusingly, he included a copy of Microsoft’s Pollyanna press release, which pitches the OOXML defeat as “strong global support for Open XML.” The usual suspects have their own take on the news, including Slashdot and Groklaw. -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
