YOu can disble the MTA if you dont need. As for fsck, normal shutdown will cause fsck once in 30 boots. Repeated fsck by ubuntu at boot time is a sign that your machine is not shutting down properly. There is no work around currently but a workaround is on te anvil for next release of ubuntu (Hardy)!! > > 3.
