Hi all,
  There are couple of other ways which could perhaps make the whole
process cleaner/easier without much strain on the servers.

1. rsync :- This is similar to how jigdo works where it magically
knows which part of an .iso file has had updates/been changed.

2. metalinker :- This is a mashup of conventional server and torrents
technology.

Additions, suggestions to the same are appreciated. :)
