Xubuntu - Comes with XFCE desktop by default. Suitable for old machines with low RAM and processor speeds. You get get XFCE desktop on your Ubuntu installation by installing meta-package xubuntu-desktop. Gobuntu - It is supposed to be completely Free version of Ubuntu that adheres strictly to Debian Free Software Guidelines. There are no 'restricted' and 'multiverse' sections. Also, AFAIK, Firefox is not present since it is not compliant with DFSG. UbuntuStudio - This version is targeted for audio/video artists. It includes packages for audio/video editing and low latency kernels. Don't ask me what low latency is, I don't know. :-D. Similar to xubuntu, you can install ubuntustudio-desktop meta-package.
