Yes, actually I just noticed I've changed the device to ALSA now, from
Pulseaudio, and that helps the situation - not sure whether this is a bug in
Pulse causing sound to play on low volume -- Ankur, another thing to make
sure perhaps is that all the mixer tracks are selected under System ->
Preferences -> Sound so all the tracks show up in your Volume Control ..

Another (perhaps unrelated) problem I have with sound on the Dell 1525 is
that often after coming out of Suspend, I lose all sound until I restart the
machine (it sometimes comes back if i do alsa force-reload) .. if trying to
diagnose these problems might help others who face similar issues, I can try
digging, but so far it's not tortured me, so haven't mentioned on list ..

Ankur - hope your problem gets fixed - feel free to ask again for details /
clarifications if it does not work for you - and more importantly, if you do
get things to work smoothly, please tell us how:)

Thanks,
Sanjay
