Hi The CDMA FWT phone Huawei ETS T1 2288 has been non functional on ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10. Needless to say its been frustrating to not be able to use a later version of Ubuntu (and or other later software).
The problem seems to be that the respective (default) kernels seem to not load the appropriate driver. for this device. The problem seems to be with kernels 2.26.x and 2.27.x Am wondering if under the latest ubuntu 9.04 this device has become functional. Have not had the chance to try it out. However what i do know is that this device is functional under kernel 2.6.26.8.tex3 in the distro PClinuxOS. (nope nothing to do with ubuntu but hopeful signs that it may work) So a question regarding the kernel - how much does it differ from distro to distro - is there a possibility that Ubuntu developers might have changed the kernel enough to make some devices non functional under them.. ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
