Does the device pop up as a cdrom device ?? on the desktop @ Moz to find out the details he is asking for vendor and product id open a terminal and do -$ lsusb -v on the output go up and find the device listed and note the details if you have any doubts then redirect the text to a txt file using the following command -$ lsusb -v > lsusbputdatehere.txt this file "lsusbputdatehere.txt will be found in your home directory Also if you can post the out put of dmesg $ dmesg but do this just after you plug in the device the last few lines of dmesg will show how Kubuntu is treating the device. after that do what Moz has said. if errors continue the post mail with extracts of the above commands ________________________________ > New Windows 7: Simplify what you do everyday.
