Hi Ram

I will check out Imagination. I have used dvd-slideshow (it is in the repos, and is very easy to use, it is command-line based) in the past and it has worked well, I have done presentations in remote areas with it (where DVDplayers are more common than LCD projectors).

for slide show with/without animations, you can take a look at latex with
its beamer extensions. The installations also come with custom examples with
themes, which you can use directly. It allows for excellent presentations.
kile is an excellent kde based editor for latex which can help fast
generation and layout with your presentations.

what i mean is this generates a video file with audio and am not sure
ooo.org can do that - and the functionality is really easy
