ambika, take a few steps back and consider: if you wish to help people learn kathak, teaching them dance steps, and how to use a web-based application for learning to dance, and/or making them learn a linux-based software will obviously make them run. kathak has a lot of subtle movements, such as eye-movements, complex hand gestures, facial expressions, that none of these software can create, or would take several hundred hours of authoring in blender3d to achieve. so, unless you're james cameron and want to capture eye and face expressions using tech-wizardry, perhaps just running a learning system based on published videos on the web would be insta-cool-fun, don't you think? for this all you'd need is a camcoder, an ubuntu with kino installed, and a broadband connection. in the meantime, if you wish to teach students 'taal' and rhythm, a drum-machine software called 'hydrogen' would help, as you can download indian ethnic percussion instruments into it and conjure your beats at will. finally, do take some time to go through the list i compiled for you earlier. visit their forums or contact their developers to understand whether you can stoke those software-tandoors to roast some java-enabled web-apps, or with any other technology. regards niyam bhushan -- ubuntu-in mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
