Try this : Power Management Option

On AC Power :

- slide the "set display brightness to : whatever % you want"

On Battery Power :

- make the "Reduce Backlight Brightness" option ON.

- Make both these options default - by PRESSING - "MAKE DEFAULT" button.

This has worked for me for the past 3 days - must have started 20 - 25 times - and the brightness is always as I have set it.

I use lenovo 3000 G530 - Core2 Duo, 2GB, 10.04 installed 3 days back.

I've checked it ....but unfortunately it is not working for me ..... every-time it used to forget the brightness settings and sets it to its maximum level on both mode AC and battery
