a shared ntfs partition for the rare occassions i need to use windows (like
when faxing )

i also run wincedows inside virtual box so the folder is shared and its easy
to exchange data

the only two reasons i need windows are both hardware issues
first - fax (through a winmodem) does not work in linux and needs direct
access to the hardware (does not work inside virtual box either)

Second is scanner - again difficult to get working in linux
