You don't need to touch it. It can happen accidentally. Even a slight touch to the touchpad will mess with mouse pointer. See if there is any preference in System -> Preferences -> Mouse to 'Disable touchpad while using keyboard'. If this preference is not available then install package gpointing-device-settings and it will give you appropriate preference.
