Thanks for the helpful hints. Yes installed it within Win XP, using with Wubi which comes with ubuntu as default for window users. My experience - it is very smooth installation and did not give any trouble. Since it is installed thro' wubi, I can uninstalled the ubuntu from windows itself as if it is part of software of windows - thro" ADD/REMOVE of control panel - without any problems. You can upgrade to any version within ubuntu itself also. Since the ubuntu is installed normal way thro' windows and not thro' any Virtual machine - which i don't have any experience so far.
