Not an exact answer - but you should really get a D Link modem. Those BSNL provided modems are pathetic - they never work in automatic PPPoE mode. They told me to use Bridged mode, even that does not work at times. My D Link modem has no issues till now. It costs only Rs. 1500 - 2000 for a wired one and around Rs. 2500 for a wi-fi one.
