Dear All, So finally, here are the steps I've taken to first get Ubuntu 12.04 working in LiveCD-mode on my Apple MacBook Pro 5,1 and then the further steps taken to dual-boot with Mac OSX and ubuntu 12.04 in native modes. Am typing this from Ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop:
