Haven't tried kalculate, but my uniformed impression is that it requires OpenLX, and I am not sure how actively the application, or the OS, are maintained. I had thought that development of GnuKhata was also stalled, but there seems to be recent activity on the source code versioning system linked to from their site. I will look again into GnuKhata. Cannot commit to anything at present, but Taxspanner is working on a book of accounts system, and in principle we want to open-source it. The development needed, and the mechanics of actually open-sourcing the code probably makes this at least a year away. All in all, the situation is pretty sad when it comes to open-source accounting software. Regards, Gora
