ok so i checked out both modem-manager and prepaid-applet both recognize both the device and the service provider
prepaid applet says it cannot find information about idea cellular and asks to refer to a wiki modem-manager though is more responsive- shows all the info about the device and the connection, signal strenght etc and is able to query ussd codes and get info. Next is to see if it can send an sms regards ram On 2 August 2014 20:26, Ramnarayan.K <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Kesavan > > Nice , will check it out > > many linux version backhad this as well as the related > prepaid-manager-applet installed and they never worked > > so am checking it out now > > thanks > ram > > > On 2 August 2014 20:05, Kesavan Subburam <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> Have you tried modem-manager-gui? >> >> >> On Sat, Aug 2, 2014 at 7:14 PM, Ramnarayan.K <[email protected]> >> wrote: >> >>> Hi >>> >>> Was curious if there were any working tools (or if any one was using >>> such a tool) >>> >>> to send and receive bulk sms' (to/from a contact group) via Linux + a >>> gsm mobile device >>> >>> Seems like gammu/ wammu supports a whole range including many of the >>> popular mobile broadband device http://wammu.eu/phones/ and am going to >>> try it but was interested to know if anyone actually used them. >>> >>> I have a huawei E1550 - which is supported ? lets see >>> >>> regards >>> ram >>> >>> >>> >>> -- >>> ubuntu-in mailing list >>> [email protected] >>> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in >>> >>> >> >> >> -- >> Kesavan >> >> -- >> ubuntu-in mailing list >> [email protected] >> https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in >> >> >
