Thanks for your reply, Han Young Bin. A Korean user answered at the bug
report, and let me know that the Korean community is hesitating, and
would need more time to make a decision.
So we won't change the default Korean font at this time. The ball is in
your court now; we will await a request from the Korean community before
changing anything.

Hi all!
In Ubuntu 16.04, the default font for rendering Chinese was changed to
Noto Sans (the fonts-noto-cjk package, which contains fonts for Chinese,
Japanese and Korean). Now we are about to switch to the Noto fonts for
Japanese, and I'm wondering if you would be interested in that change
for Korean as well (instead of Nanum fonts). Please see
