Hi Everyone, Joop (La Pingvino), who was the driver behind the http://ubuntu-eo.org/ page contacted me today and said that he's unable to work on it for some time. He's asked that I round up some volunteers from the community to design a website for it based upon the original goals.
The original goals we decided on were: 1) Create a front page in Esperanto describing the website (and a small English description for the non-Esperanto speakers) 2) Create a sub-page with information about how to setup your Ubuntu machine to use Esperanto (i.e. l10n) 3) Create a sub-page with information about what teams to join in Launchpad to help us out (e.g. ubuntu-l10n-eo) 4) Create a sub-page with information about how to translate, in Launchpad, from EN to EO (i.e. the mechanics and a standard translation dictionary of commonly controversial words) Right now I host the site and it's simply webhosting. The options are: 1) continue with a basic web page that's updated regularly 2) install mediawiki (which is a nightmare to maintain because upgrades break it badly) 3) install drupal 4) install joomla 5) install wordpress The easiest way at the moment to create this website at the moment is to use LP and BZR. I can then take this code and automatically update the website regularly. I've pushed up the existing website to https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-eo/+junk/website You all have access to download and upload to this branch. For those of you who are interested in designing the site, feel free to dive right in and work on the branch. When you want it pushed up, let me know. There's an automated way I can do this but I have to see if my hosting provider supports it.
