Luke, I thought the Facebook Chat was mentioned as one of the IM services available through Empathy, though I may be mistaken. Mentioning any of the features offered by programs is a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. The more a new user can find out about the features of these "different than Windows" programs, the better. Even if the mention of those features is done as a "here's a few things to check out" (such as those features in F-spot), it's still better than not mentioning it and the possibility of those features being overlooked by a new user. Hmm....I need to look back on the stuff I wrote in Chapter Two, and apply this line of thinking ;)
As for the CD image thing, placing the link to the wiki in the margin actually makes it stand out more than if it were left in the body of the paragraph. Still, placing it in the body of the paragraph (while leaving the margin comment in place) could also be good, as a built-in redundancy.
