Hi Benjamin, I'm April from Cebu City, Philippines and I've just recently signed up to the Ubuntu Manual group. As an introduction, I hold a degree in Computer Engineering and have worked as a writer for almost five years -- three of which I spent as a technical writer for a research and development company. I'm fairly new to Ubuntu, having been using it on and off for the past 3 years. I have had some aspirations of making a contribution, however small, to the further development of open source software (preferably along the lines of my training, i.e., technical writing/documentation), and I hope to be able to do more -- learn, grow, and contribute -- through this community. I just started contributing to the GNOME Documentation project but would also love to get involved with the Ubuntu Manual Project as this operating system is the one I'm most familiar with (I am also using this for for the creation of the GNOME content). To start, I've gone over the instructions detailed on your website (http://ubuntu-manual.org/getinvolved/authors). With that, I'd like to ask you where exactly I can be of help. There are several topics listed on the website which are said to require some documentation. Is this an updated list? Where would you suggest I start? I'd appreciate any information on this as I am really excited to start contributing. Thanks a lot and best regards, April -- Benjamin Humphrey interesting.co.nz ohso.co
