Hello. I recently saw an email from someone asking about how to translate the \index commands. Unfortunately, I can't find it now to reply to it directly.
I've updated the style guide (available at <http://files.ubuntu-manual.org/style-guide.pdf> with notes on translating the \index macros. If anyone has any questions about how to translate anything in the manual, please check the style guide first and if that doesn't answer your question, email the list and we'll be glad to help. (I'll try to keep the style guide updated as we go along, too.)
