Thanks, Hannie for pointing out that error and to Kevin for correcting it. I saw the error before I committed 77 yesterday (I think the error was in 76). The 'make' worked and the manual built, but 'make' did note the error, and I forgot to go back to locate the problem.
I think this error also allows me to remind everyone (again) that *we are asking all authors and editors to focus with intent these next few weeks on reducing the use of marginnotes in the manual*. The error noted yesterday is a double-whammy in that it's both a marginnote AND a screenshot. I've not seen the actual marginnote and screenshot that induced the error, so the use of marginnote here with a screenshot may be legitmate, but the fact that it's a marginnote/screenshot pairing leads me to suspect the contents could go into the body of the adjacent text. Each of these marginnotes should be examined on a case-by-case basis, and legitimate marginnotes should absolutely remain intact--all others should be reintroduced into the body of the text. Last weekend, I went through every section I was assigned, and with the exception of possibly one marginnote, I either moved the marginnote into the body of the text, or deemed the existing marginnote unnecessary for a beginner's manual and deleted it. It's surprisingly easy to reintroduce marginnotes into the main text, and as a result, the manual reads better and visually looks more professional with clean margins. So...just a friendly word of encouragement! :) --Jim On Tue, Sep 3, 2013 at 1:50 AM, Kevin Godby <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello, Hannie. > > I've corrected the problem in the bzr repository. > > The hardware/keyboardandmouse.tex file had a \marginscreenshot with a > missing label.
