Hi Jane, all, Another initiative of the Australian LoCo team, in particular through the efforts of Andrew Swinn and Paul Schulz, is to compile lists of local vendors who support (or do NOT support) Ubuntu. Initially the focus is on laptops but it will be expanded to other hardware. See: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/Projects/UbuntuFriendlyNotebooks > One of the things that the Marketing Team could help with is pulling > together a How To or Resource Guide or email templates for other LoCo > teams to help do this, as well as communicating with the LoCo teams to > let them know of the initiative. As you'll see, the page includes letter templates for contacting local suppliers. These could possibly do with some work (for example the partner program should probably be mentioned in the first contact letter). Anyway, here we have something else the MT can adopt, refine and make available to other LoCo teams as Jane described. I'm more than happy to facilitate this so feel free to poke me about progress. Note also that by having LocoTeams basing initiatives on a set of guides/templates managed by a central entity (the MT in this case) it is much more feasible for Ubuntu/Canonical to provide input, support and feedback.
