This is the first time I've posted to a mailing list, so I hope I'm doing it right (and sorry in advance for the Yahoo! crap at the bottom), but I've added an idea to the Ideas page [0] , and  also created a basic mockup for it [1]. Since many ideas involve creating and distributing vast quantities of material (magazines, leaflets, posters, etc.) I thought I'd suggest one which can be done by any Ubuntu user.

The basic idea comes from books, where someone will leave a book in a park or train station or somewhere else that is busy, along with a notice saying that whoever finds it can read it and pass it on. Many of these fun little experiments use paper inserts stuck inside the cover of the book where each reader can write their name if they want to, and recently there are some which use online trackers which can be added to (sorry, I don't have any example links at the moment).

This would be great for users to do with one of their x86 ShipIt CDs, by merely downloading an insert which explains a little (this should be stuck inside on one edge, to act like a flap enabling the current CD wallet's text to be seen) and a small label to go on the front, just so people realise it isn't junk that someone's forgotten to throw away. These can be printed off for a matter of pennies, then glued in place on a CD wallet.

My mockup is for an online "tracker" where recipients can add themselves (and those who can't also have the option to put their name on the back of the insert for the next person to add them). Great emphasis has been put on ShipIt so people don't keep the released CDs for themselves (they are encouraged to burn a copy, pass the "wild" CD on, then order some of their own from ShipIt with the same Launchpad account they created to edit the Wiki tracker page).

This requires such a small amount of effort it would be a crime not to do, but since these discs will hopefully be going around for a while (with instructions for replacing broken or out-of-date CDs on the tracker page) I wanted to get some level of confirmation in the layout and stuff, especially the URL which will have to be correct and final when stuck onto the CDs. Also, since this URL will be accessed directly by people who don't know what Ubuntu is I think it would be a bad idea to put the URL under "MarketingTeam", since it is hard to overcome most people's first reaction to Free Software which is that nothing in the world is free and they will have to pay something down the line. "Marketing" would reenforce this idea and make many potential users think the cost-free-ness of Ubuntu is just a temporary advertising promotion, which is exactly the wrong impression to give.

So basically I am after comments and changes to the Wiki page, and candidates for inserts and labels (text, layout, etc.). Thanks in advance!
