Well on the upside of all this Dell stuff, either good journalism or bad, Linux , made it to CNN.com and other site I am sure which provides Linux a more general user audience. I think in spite of the details, Joe average just got another taste of this thing called Linux. Now maybe just maybe a few of Joe's will go out and see what this Linux thing is all about.
The fact of the mater is we can post pro FOSS stuff all day to our blogs and the such but we need to bring awareness to the general people. I did a seminar for a group of teachers in my home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and was amazed how may teacher walked in with no Idea of what FOSS was and walked out with a copy of Ubuntu or Edubuntu or my WinOSSCDRom. They loved the idea of the freedom it gave them. Now with that being said we need to expose "people" not just tech people to the ideas of FOSS.
