Hi,

I have encountered various Older (55+) humans that are not skilled in
Windows, Linux, or any other type of OS. They would like to do email,
but just see the PC an inconceivable monster to be avoided. They have
not used a PC before, and the concept of invisible files on hard disk is
hard to grasp. I have wondered if anyone has considered dumbing down a
version of Ubuntu that only boots into an email application, and uses an
external RS232 modem. Is it possible to make a system that simple for
Older people. If so my mom could use it and many other people I know.

Plan B would be to make a PC bootable system or CD that would have an
interface similar to the Ubuntu mobile, but on a PC. This would give a
user limited but easy options to do email, play music, and do some
surfing, with out the learn curve.

The Windows and Linux options currently available are just too hard for
them to learn.

I was just wondering.....
