For last year's Software Freedom Day in Bracknell, The local print cartridge, print and copy shop printed leaflets for me, to my design, with advertising for them on a front panel (I designed it with their agreement). The leaflets were double sided A4 non colour, but the cost would have been at least 30 UK pounds. I did the folding myself.
The shop gained advertising to 500 people who each had a computer (and a printer no doubt). I gained a useful resource and some sponsorship. I also gained their awareness of open source. They are now ok with some of my (and their advert) leaflets on their shop counter all year round. good luck Paul Bartell wrote: > I think the problem you run into is: what are we giving back to them? > I have a sponsor for a cds, who probably wouldent mind us handing out > a few business cards, but i dont know that ubuntu would be okay with > that. > > On Thu, Apr 24, 2008 at 8:55 AM, Vid Ayer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> On Thu, Apr 24, 2008 at 10:06 AM, Jad madi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >> > Good Day everyone, >> > >> > I would like to know if there are at restrictions on hunting for a >> > local sponsor for Ubuntu LoCo team especially with the absence of >> > Ubuntu Marketing team and the tight restrictions on CD distributions. >> >> Not that I know of.
