Hi folks, We've reached the point in another release cycle where it's time to start talking up our alpha milestones wth a fancy wiki page. Actually - we're about a week /past/ that point, but Intrepid Alpha 1 has been suffering from Point-release-induced Attention Deficit Disorder, so this email is only going out now. Sorry about that!
Anyway, I'm once again looking for help in crafting the web page for the alpha milestones which will over the course of the release cycle evolve into our "technical overview" page at release time. Based on discussions at UDS-Prague[1], rather than creating a separate wiki page for each milestone, the intent is to have a single, living document that is updated throughout the release cycle. This document "lives" at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IntrepidIbex/TechnicalOverview. (Note that we are dropping the use of the term "release notes" here, because of the confusion that results from completely changing what we consider the "release notes" at the time of release.) The actual alpha release is intended to happen /today/, and of course we're still early in the release cycle so we don't expect there to be a whole lot to talk about yet anyway, but I will happily monitor the document over the next few days and push updates to the Ubuntu webmaster if there are changes that people want to make here. So yes, documenting any outstanding merges from Debian, or new changes, or specs that have been implemented early[2], would be most appreciated!
