Hi Martin!

The project as a whole is very diverse. The site we have up is the
Do-It-Yourself part of SpreadUbuntu, in other words, the marketing
material repository.

As of lately everybody has been busy on other stuff (relaxation is
also being busy ;) so basically I would like to kick the tires from
now towards the release of Jaunty.

Synchronize the spreadubuntu 0.2 release with the Jaunty Beta Release
and have a codebase so solid and stable that considering a
diy.spreadubuntu.com redirection can be a real alterntive. I believe
this will be achieved by the 9.10 release and the SU life in all it's
glory will go online together with the LTS.

As you point out we need to get the DIY part out so LoCo teams can
start using it right away and that is why 0.2 needs to address this in
its enterity.

So what is stoping us? I believe the reasons are:

* A general ubuntu community site towards drupal 6 (our code is based
in drupal 5, we MUST update it)
* Lack of organization (your e-mail exemplifies my point i think)
* The SU project is too ambitious. We should go from point to point
(DIY first, then infosite then drupal/desktop GUI/whatever else we
come up with or/and even combine our force with other projects:
whyubuntu, ubuntu-wants-you, etc...)

Og ja, dette kan fint være et bra start for et nordisk showcase samarbeid ;)

We need a meeting ASAP. I propose to hold it the 17th of January.

I hang at #ubuntu-marketing (nick huayra) if anyone wants to chat ;)

Let's get SU going in 2009.

R.
