All,
I've made a couple previous calls for specifications, and there are
now 17 specs and 4 ideas proposed for discussion at UDS in the Mobile
track. As there are somewhere between 50 and 60 available slots for
sessions, we've a ways to go to fill the schedule.
I'm sure some of you aren't sure your idea is good enough, or aren't
sure
you can make it, or aren't sure if your concept belongs in the Mobile
track, or are worried that you might have to implement it if you propose
it. Please, please submit your ideas and specifications for discussion
anyway.
Ubuntu Mobile attempts to meet lots of goals, among those is to
serve the needs and desires of anyone subscribed to this mailing list.
In order to do that, we need to make sure we put together a good
roadmap for what we want to happen in the coming cycles. What functions
are missing? What needs to be fixed? What features do we want for our
own use of our own devices? What concerns are there that are worth
discussion? What cool projects are happening that ought be incorporated
into Ubuntu Mobile? What subsystems should be integrated to provide an
improved user experience?
The more ideas and specifications we can put together, and the
better we can describe them, the more likely we'll be able to reach our
goals. I've been advised that we can have a few more days to get our
spec list in order, and that the deadline is moving to 28th April. I'm
not sure we'll be able to receive another extension.
So, the URL for adding stuff is
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MobileTeam/KarmicSpecifications.
Don't be shy: just dump your ideas in the ideas section. If an idea
appeals to you, write a spec. If you want assistance, ask on this
mailing list. Let's put together a great schedule for UDS, and make
Karmic the best Mobile release yet.
