i'm writing this email to let you know about a quite important bug in the
jack audio connection kit package.

SYSTEM: ubuntu 10.04LTS + 2.6.31-11-rt kernel

BUG: starting jack (via qjackctl) ends up in a series of error messages
stating the NICE level is not set up properly for jack to be running in real
time mode, along with the request to change those levels in the limits.conf
file.
the problem is that apparently the sound-related NICE settings have been
moved to the audio.conf file, and nobody changed the absolute path in the
jack source code accordingly.

WORKAROUND: copy-paste the appropriate values in the already existing
limits.conf file

regards
