BIOS Developer Location: Austin, TX (onsite job) Duration: 6 ~ 9 months Pay (W2 only) - Subcontracting thru' 3rd party agency firms, C2C, 1099 not allowed Description: Responsible for the design and development of component oriented UEFI Framework BIOS modules using a range of applicable technologies (e.g., C & C++ programming languages, compilers, assemblers, debuggers, ITPs, scopes, logic analyzers, and other tools) and state-of-the-art software engineering methodologies. He/she shall participate in product development in all stages from planning and design to development and testing. Key qualifying skills: Overall 8 or more years of experience in relevant domain Qualified candidates must have good software design skills and be able to produce requirements and design documentation for the assigned projects at both a high and low level. Knowledge of component oriented development methodologies, Design Patterns, modular C programming techniques, Data Abstraction, PC architecture, BIOS development (especially UEFI-Protocol-DXE-PEI), processor architecture, chipset programming, industry standards that affect BIOS, and busses common to PCs. Good candidates should be proactive in managing work including meeting schedules, identifying risks, and delivering high quality software. Possess good ability to use common software and hardware debugging tools. Desirable: OOP experience, e.g. - C++ or Java or Python Candidates should enjoy working in a fast moving, team oriented environment. Soft skills: Good communication skills in English (both verbal and written) Possess good interpersonal skills; should be a team player. Ability to work in a team.
