Hi Andreas, I'd recommend that you contact the maintainer of the package in Debian (Javier Fernandez-Sanguino Peña <[email protected]>) to get the new upstream version in Debian. Once that happens, we can probably pull together a feature freeze exception <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess> to get it into Trusty. Otherwise, it'll have to wait until the next cycle, unless someone is willing to package the new version in Ubuntu and make sure it runs properly.
