My goal is to learn the correct and current process for packaging new software on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I am following the Packaging Guide and I have arrived at the section "Starting a Package" (4.2).
https://packaging.ubuntu.com/html/packaging-new-software.html#starting-a-package I can see that the instructions require an old version of Ubuntu 22.04 in a container or virtual machine due to commands used in the example not being available in the current release. This indicates to me that this is not the current process that developers use to package new software anymore. Is there newer documentation of the current process that I can read and follow?
