Olá! Você atualizou recentemente o pacote lightdm para a versão 1.18.2 (disponível no repositório de updates - http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial-updates/lightdm )? Se sim, experimente fazer o downgrade dele para a versão 1.18.1-0ubuntu1 do lançamento inicial do Ubuntu 16.04 - http://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/lightdm .
