For a number of reasons I attempted to reinstall Mythbuntu 12.04.3 on my
Jetway ION-TOP. (Intel Atom CPU D525 @ 1.80GHz, 64 bit, 4GB RAM.) After
the install was finished and I restarted the machine I knew there would
be updates. From past experience I learned that updates and the mythtv
backend don't get along. So, when the machine started, I exited the
front end, started backend setup so the backend program would exit,
exited backend setup but did not restart the backend. Nor did I allow
mythfilldatabase to run. The Update Manager notification was present,
and I started that process. That was at 1:43 this afternoon. I knew it
would take some time so I ran some errands. It is now 16:03 and I have a
window on the screen that has the Update Manager title. The content part
of the window is white. It appears that Update Manager has hung.
Where do I start to troubleshoot this problem? Is there a log file that
I can get at while the program is still open?
Thanks.
