There are a number of ways:
1. Bug triage is a biggie (I used to help on this a bunch, but have
not had time in quite a while)
2. Trying to duplicate bugs to capture additional information is a biggie
3. Testing releases (closely related to #2) - probably important
today, with a new release coming up!
4. Help make sure documentation is up-to-date
