This is because it is only building an Android layer, used to start
ubuntu. You have to flash a separate zip containig the generic ubuntu
part, after flashing your device specific part.
You can download this generic part at
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch-preview/daily-preinstalled/current/
. The zip that you have build will be between 40 and 90 Megabyte in
size, depending on your device.

Hello,
I had similar errors while compiling. You can disable the
module in one of the Makefiles for your device in
device/manufacturer/codename/*.mk . In this file you will find
a line with something like "hwasettings \" just add a # in
front of the line "# hwasettings \" repeat that for every
module which fails with the same error.
