Hey everyone, One thing which was brought up a few times in the past is that system-image.ubuntu.com is currently pretty specific to our Ubuntu Touch flavour.
While we don't have any clear plan to use system-image for anything else in the immediate future, I thought it'd still be a good idea to cleanup the layout a bit before we release 14.04 rather than after. As a result, later this week (still working on some of the code), all existing channels will move from "/<channel name>" to "/ubuntu-touch/<channel name>". Redirections will be put in place so that existing devices will still get updates as usual and will automatically get moved to the new path with the first update they apply. I plan on keeping those redirections around for quite a while, possibly as late as July when saucy will go end of life and be removed from the system-image server. By then, all client software, QA tools, ... should have had plenty of time to switch to the new channel names by default rather than rely on the redirections. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this. -- Stéphane Graber Ubuntu developer http://www.ubuntu.com
