I updated the bug and also moved it to Unity8 (the low level part is fully functional). It seems Qt 5.2 changed the default type of negative int values in a Qml file, changing from int to double, breaking volume down. I updated the bug with a small patch that fixes the volume up/down behavior, but you can still easily break the indicator when playing it a bit (Unity8 even gets to a point where it doesn't send any dbus message anymore related with volume control). Would be nice if someone from the Unity8 team could take a look a this issue.
