Most of us doing stuff in the read only area can't live with that mode, so it doesn't really apply "to all developers needs"; which I guess raises the confusion of rw mode when we say "developer mode". The mode to set rw is not UI accessible and I don't think it will be; If anything it would be accessed through fastboot or recovery. Cheers
