Subject: [Ubuntu-phone] Nexus 4 dead battery
Last night I accidentally let my Nexus 4 battery die. I've had it
plugged in with its original charger all day and also tried a few
others but cannot get it to come back on. Mostly the red light is
blinking but sometimes it is completely blank or the charging battery
icon shows on the screen. Occasionally the screen shows the Google
logo followed by the Ubuntu circle but then the screen goes blank again.
I've read here https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/ReleaseNotes that in rare
circumstances on a Nexus 4 it is necessary to unplug and replug
battery connector to get it to boot after a drained battery.
Does anyone have experience with this? Should I open the phone and
unplug the battery? What else can I try?
I should mention, although likely completely unrelated, that yesterday
before the phone died the clock oddly jumped an hour ahead for a
couple of hours before going back to the correct time.
Thanks for your insights

What Chris said, although fyi, when I first got my Nexus 4, it was
second hand, severely used, and the battery didn't last very long. Even
after wiping android (yep, Ubuntu has better battery life). Found it's
trivially easy to buy a new battery and replace it, if you're
comfortable opening up your phone. Actually, have now replaced most of
it... frame, back cover, front lcd & digitiser x 3... have been a bit
hard on the poor device. Good luck with it.
