Hello everyone, A very busy landing day today - and it's still ongoing! Most of the newly released packages were - as usual - fixes, with many changes backported from vivid to ubuntu-rtm. We had a new Unity8 published in 14.09, same for a new ubuntu-keyboard (which should fix some autopilot test cases depending on specific language layouts). But most importantly today a new gallery-app was also signed-off for ubuntu-rtm as well. This upload is a sync from vivid, fully packed with many upstream changes. It also fixes a recently introduced thumbnailer-caused regression [1] which made the overall gallery-app experience a bit terrible.
There are still many critical bugs open in the nearing milestone [2], but most of them have fixes in the works. Let's make sure those are fixed by the end of this week at best. Tomorrow QA will pick up the morning ubuntu-rtm image and begin preliminary delta testing, checking if the current images have any blocking regressions present. This all is done in preparation for our next weeks milestone. Please note that because of this, silo sign-off might take a bit longer than usual (due to some QA engineers being busy with image testing). We will get back to working on overall vivid quality after the nearest milestone - it's been a while since the last devel promotion. We were supposed to pick it up some time ago already but there is still too much to do on the ubuntu-rtm front. One last information: we currently seem to have problems running the ubuntu emulator on vivid desktops [3]. The bug is in proper hands but it might still take some time to get it fixed - please be patient!
