Hi all, The music app developers have been discussing an issue we found while doing testing of the app. Currently the user can delete the "Music" directory when connected to the device via MTP. On a side note, it appears that Android also allows the user to shoot him/herself in the foot. When the user does this, it causes the music app to be unable to import music via ContentHub. The directory can not be created again without using ADB--so Developer mode is needed to remedy the predicament.
This probably isn't a big deal, but since it's so easy for the user to delete the directory, maybe we should remedy this? I see two possible fixes: 1. The music app is changed such that it has write access to "~/Music/". This would mostly work, but currently it seems that mediascanner2 needs to be restarted in order for this fix to work--so more investigation would be needed. 2. The user could be prevented from removing the default directories exposed via MTP. Other apps like Gallery app may be affected in a similar manner, so #2 would mostly likely fix all instances of this situation. Thoughts? Victor Thompson (music app dev)
