The release image does not support HCI profiles for keyboards, so I wouldn't expect this to work. Hopefully someone more familiar with our blueZ implementation can comment if the command line you tried should work.
We're working adding support in a future update! As well as this list, the askubuntu.com site is another good place for questions like this.
