Hello everyone, The vivid RC preliminary testing is currently in progress. Remember: this is still not the time for the baseline switch as this is planned to happen in around 2 weeks. This week we only gather detailed information of the state of the vivid base. So far QA noticed some new issues, like location problems on certain devices, but our Phone Foundations team has them on their radar.
I would like to use this occasion to thank Thomas Voss, Pete Woods and Timo Jyrinki for unblocking us with a fix to the unity8 hang-on-boot ;) This will not be the last RC image we build this week sadly, as we'll also need to release a new UITK as well. It seems some features will have to be reverted as they were not ready for landing in vivid-overlay. As for the hotfix OTA that's planned for next week, we will probably be waiting for 2 additional fixes there. It seems that the 'hotfix release' starts changing more into a full-fledged update, which is a bit sad as we didn't want to have one like that built from ubuntu-rtm/14.09 again.
